We experienced this unity in our Unconference #13 this July 28th 2017. Here leaders from diverse backgrounds and functions joined us for an interactive discussion on:
‘ReSkilling Workforce for Future’ at AT&T, Gurugram, India.
It was a true Collaborative and Informal Learning experience where leaders shared not only their perspectives but also best-practices in their organisation!

Mr Arun Karna, Managing Director at AT&T India, wonderfully Pace Setted the discussion and shared with us their well thought and designed process of ReSkilling the workforce at AT&T. This process helped them not only identify the top future trending jobs but also motivated the employees to get themselves ReSkilled!
Mr Deepak Malhotra, Service Area Leader at IBM, talked about the rise of Hybrid Workforces in the era of ReSkilling and that how ‘Stagnation’ not ‘Low Performance’ soon will be the reason for lay-offs. He also mentioned that future will belong to group of diversely-skilled freelancers rooting for a project.
Ms Noor us Saba Alam, Sr Talent Acquisition Leader at LinkedIn, highlighted that ReSkilling is also ReNaming of old jobs that require new methods. She also talked about learning strategies required for ReSkilling workforce.
Mr Aamir Jariwala, from India Start-up and VC Eco-system at Amazon Web Services – also an Entrepreneur, Technologist & an Investor, shared his work about how they are working with Government to create strong platforms to ReSkill India. He also talked about how Amazon’s Value System plays an important role in motivating employees to get themselves ReSkilled.
Mr Sandeep Tyagi, Director HR at Samsung Electronics, shared about the various learning strategies they adopt at Samsung to ReSkill staff as per their different functions and job-roles.
Mr Shaurya Pratap Singh, Sales Head at LinkedIn Learning Solutions, mentioned the increasing desire for Application of Learning as core of ReSkilling Workforce. In that he articulated about need for 10 days of pure learning followed by 1 year of application!
Mr Saurabh Sharma, Head Employer Branding and Sr Talent Acquisition Leader at Ericsson, talked about their practices at Ericsson for Learning Strategies as part of ReSkilling. He mentioned that Performance Management is also a very essential follow-up step post such learning events.
Mr Rajeev Sharma, Head Skill Development at JBM, shared about his work at the Ministry of Skill Development and the practices they follow.
Mr Jaipal Sharma, Sr Corp HR and Accounts Leader at Lumax, talked about their practice of categorising differently skilled workforce and so helping them perform.
Ms Shweta Sharma, Founder Collaborative Climate, added that today’s technology is largely about Connecting people and that Collaborating Skilled people, within and outside the organisation is the next step to follow as part of truly actualizing ReSkilled Workforces.
